《英美小说与电影》（第二版）由上下篇八个单元组成，上篇介绍四位英国作家及其代表作；下篇介绍四位美国作家及其代表作。所选作家和作品都是英美文学史上影响广泛，英语专业必读的作家作品，并有观赏性较强的相应电影。每个单元包括作家作品介绍、小说选读以及多种练习。小说选读除了常见的章节选读外，还有从小说中选出的与电影重要场景相关的段落，以及可以在讲解或观赏电影时作为参考的重要引语和段落选读。
第二版对第一版学习者在阅读中遇到的难点和问题给予了一一解答，大幅增加释义和注释，增加有助理解的小说人物介绍和选读，调整部分练习；对大学英语四级词汇中的积极词汇及超四级词汇仍采用汉译旁注；对需要较多解释的知识点用尾注，在尾注中增加了文学和文化知识的介绍；并把在教材中多次出现的生词（大多是六级和托福词汇）做成词汇表附在教材后。第二版更适合不同级别的英美文学爱好者学习使用。

张桂珍，北京大学外国语学院英语系副教授，长期从事大学英语教学及小说电影类专题课教学与研究。在国内期刊发表相关论文数十篇，主编《英美小说与电影》《英美戏剧与电影》，参与编写的教材有《大学英语读写译》等。
