Dr. Bai Chunli, born in Liaoning in September 1953, is a chemist and an exr i nanotechnology. He is now president and secretary of the CPC leading party members' group and executive chairman of the presidium of academic departments of'the Chinese Academy of Sciences, president of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, and also an academician of more than 10 state academies of science or engineering, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, t.he Royal Society of the UK, and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
